Berry Architecture + Associates has an immediate opening in our Edmonton office for an Intermediate / Senior Architectural Technologist with 5+ years of North American commercial experience.

This position requires an individual with an Architectural Technology diploma or Architecture degree and strong experience working on a wide range of building typologies. The successful candidate will have strong Revit experience, technical and problem-solving skills, and proven ability to collaborate with project teams, consultants, clients, and contractors.

Required Experience:

• 5+ years of professional North American commercial experience
• Completion of a 2-year Architectural Technology diploma from an accredited technical institution, Architecture degree, or equivalent education and experience
• Strong experience preparing and coordinating working drawings and construction document packages
• Demonstrated understanding of architectural specifications, building systems, building codes, life safety codes, accessibility requirements, and sustainable design standards
• Experience in programming, planning, construction detailing, and building performance
• Ability to coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and other disciplines
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Microsoft Office is required
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, InDesign, Enscape, and other graphic programs is considered an asset
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects within established schedules
• Self-motivated with strong independent problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Primary Responsibilities and Goals

• Develop working drawings and assist with coordination of all disciplines
• Review drawings for errors and omissions and prepare mark-up documents
• Develop architectural details and construction documentation
• Research, understand, and implement various construction systems
• Assemble and maintain coordinated drawing and production packages
• Perform site reviews and prepare construction field reports
• Participate in project coordination with consultants, clients, and contractors
• Complete assigned work within project schedules and established timeframes

Education and Experience Required

• 2-year diploma from an Accredited Technical Institution
• 5+ years of professional commercial North American experience
• Experience in a BIM environment with Autodesk REVIT is required
• Must demonstrate capability of handling multiple tasks and projects
• Capability to assemble various drawing packages
• Project coordination.

This position will support the continued growth of Berry Architecture through client relationship development, market research, opportunity identification, proposals, networking, and strategic business development initiatives. The successful candidate will be outgoing, organized, self-motivated, and comfortable representing the firm with clients and industry partners.

Required Experience:

• Professional experience in business development, client relations, marketing, sales, or a related field
• Experience in architecture, engineering, construction, real estate, development, or professional services is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships
• Experience identifying new clients, projects, markets, and business opportunities
• Strong networking, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
• Experience supporting proposals, presentations, qualifications packages, and business development materials
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with CRM systems and Adobe Creative Suite is beneficial
