George founded Berry Architecture + Associates in 1998 and has since filled the roles of CEO, president, and senior partner. He is in charge of business decisions regarding daily operations to ensure everything advances as per Berry’s business plan.
As a Senior Architect, George is involved in all Berry projects for design and aspects of the working drawing production. He uses his experience to challenge and motivate the design team to expand design possibilities while working within clients’ programs and striving to enhance the built environment. He is very proud of the Berry team which has positively impacted communities through its many projects.
With decades of accumulated expertise related to seniors’ housing, building envelope, acoustics, sustainable design, environmental issues, and affordable housing, George has shared his knowledge as a speaker and presenter at several conferences across North America. His goal is to challenge the image of architecture and inspire people to be more respectful and responsive to environmental issues and sustainability.
George recently attended the University of Cambridge (UK) and received a Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Design for the Built Environment. He applies this specialization in Sustainable Architecture to our overall approach to architecture, design, and building systems.

Susanne’s architectural experience started in Germany and spans more than 30 years. After a decade in Europe, she came to Canada to begin working at Berry Architecture + Associates in 1999. In 2004, she became a full partner to manage all production facets of the firm, including architectural and interior design.
In 2005, Susanne achieved her LEED Accreditation; Health Care Construction certification in 2010; Certified Construction Contract Administrator designation in 2014; and Sustainable Building Advisor in 2015. These accomplishments enhance her diverse portfolio and the strengths she applies to commercial, institutional, industrial, and residential applications.
As an organized, task-oriented, positive force in the office, Susanne’s day-to-day includes human resources tasks, accounting, staff scheduling, project management, and ensuring the Berry office runs smoothly. Her specific areas of expertise include construction contract administration and office communications, enabling the team to tackle projects of a wide variety of scope and complexity.

Isaac is a Senior Architect and partner at Berry Architecture + Associates, with many duties to oversee with his creative and proactive approach. In addition to managing the architectural team, he coordinates, prepares, and reviews preliminary design concepts. Isaac’s innovative thinking is applied to all his tasks, including design development, construction drawings, proposals, reports, specifications, and reviewing RFPs and RFQs.
Retaining many architectural accreditations and a significant amount of diverse design experience—educational, commercial, seniors’ living, residential, health care, and more—Isaac has the ability to understand the requirements of each unique space he works on with the Berry architectural team.
Isaac is continually advancing in his profession as each project brings new learning opportunities and challenges. He enjoys finding the most effective and inventive solutions to each new design. Like many architects and fellow Berry team members, Isaac’s professional motivation comes from taking a project from start to finish—bringing a concept to reality.

Carlos brings extensive architectural expertise to our team at Berry Architecture + Associates. In addition to a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with a specialty in architectural design, he holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Management. In 2019, Carlos became a Registered Architect in Canada through the Broadly Experienced Foreign Architect (BEFA) program.
Carlos is a lifelong learner who is continually broadening his areas of expertise. Over the past few years, he has become a Building Envelope Specialist and received certification as a Passive House Designer (CPHD). He delivers Building Envelope and Passive House services to clients in both Alberta and BC.
His solution-first approach, paired with his commitment to clear, upfront communication, helps keep projects moving smoothly and clients well-informed of the project progress. He is motivated by the challenges and ever-changing needs of Berry’s numerous projects and brings passion and expertise to every project he is involved in.
Carlos works in the Kelowna office, where he was the first team member to relocate to the area, watching it grow to its current vibrant and essential role in the Berry organization.

Suman is a Senior Architect and full Partner in the firm. He joined our team in 2024 and brought 30 years of architectural expertise to Berry Architecture. Suman has worked in a wide range of project typologies—in Alberta and B.C. in Canada and internationally in Singapore, India, Bahrain, Oman, and the UK. He has been based in Kelowna for the past few years and works out of our Kelowna office.
His experience encompasses diverse industries, including business and industrial campuses, commercial, residential, hospitality, and community planning. For the last five years, he has focused on large-scale multi-family residential using both wood and steel construction. Working in both the private and public sectors, he brings proven expertise in procurement, design, construction and project delivery of conventional, design build, and construction management, including fast track methods.
Project concept design, design development, overseeing construction documents, and construction administration comprise his day-to-day activities as a senior project architect. In this role, he works closely with our clients, the design team, and all consultants, as well as engaging in business development with prospective clients.

Tracy is our Chief Financial Officer at Berry Architecture. She is a highly experienced CPA, with over 30 years of experience. Tracy is a returning team member who was with Berry in the past and rejoined the team in February of 2022. We are excited to have her back and in charge of all things financial once again!
She brings a number of professional skills to the team—most importantly, her business acumen, financial reporting and analysis, economic analysis, leadership, project management, and IT abilities. Day to day activities include providing the management team with timely and accurate financial information for business decision-making and delivering excellent service to our clients.
Tracy enjoys having the opportunity to apply her finance and business experience in the creative architectural industry. Her favourite aspect of working at Berry is the collaborative and supportive team environment.

A project manager at Berry Architecture, Tracy has been with the firm since 2000. Her knowledge and interests are diverse, with a diploma in Technology and another in General Music, but her dedication to increasing her skills is unquestionable. Over the years, Tracy has taken courses in Alberta and National Building Codes, National Energy Code, WHMIS, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam.
When clients, Berry team members, or consultants need questions answered, Tracy is readily available to address their concerns, along with any others they may have throughout a project’s progression. She excels at walking people through the stages of schematic design, design development, working drawings, and construction administration.
A standard day for Tracy may also include ensuring all applicable codes are met, completing existing building evaluations and plan reviews, and helping coordinate architectural and engineering drawings with client requirements. It’s a lot of synchronization.
Berry’s team environment is something Tracy enjoys most about her job. She’s proud to take part in supporting various non-profit agencies through Berry, and she values how the firm strives to be leaders in creating energy efficient, comfortable, exciting spaces for clients and communities.

As a long-time employee with Berry Architecture, Angela has brought her expertise and enthusiasm to the team in her roles as project manager and specifications writer for many years. Daily, she confidently completes facility audits and reports while also taking on the role of liaison between the Berry team, consultants, and clients to ensure project goals are met and clients are satisfied with the final product.
Angela adds value to every project she is involved in by drawing on her training as a member of Construction Specifications Canada and through her extensive knowledge of working drawings. She also utilizes her many years of experience completing building assessment reports for the Government of Alberta, private businesses, and not-for-profit organizations, helping them avoid project pitfalls before they develop.
Currently, Angela is pursuing her Specifications Writer Certification, having completed four levels of Specifications training through CSC. She is committed to continuously pursuing further training and expertise.

Jherlyn has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architecture from Holy Angel University in the Philippines. In 2018, she began working at Berry Architecture full time immediately after completing a 12-week training course with us that was offered through the Central Alberta Immigrant Women’s Association (CAIWA).
In the intervening years, Jherlyn has developed her expertise in construction documents, schematic design and design development, 3D modelling, and 3D rendering to a high level of skill. She has now entered the internship program with the Alberta Association of Architects and is working to fulfill her internship hours in the required architectural categories.
Her day-to-day tasks are to provide conceptual schematic design and design development through working drawings. She works alongside our Project Architects and Project Managers to develop projects from the early stages through to completion.
Her goals are to become a Registered Architect with the Alberta Association of Architects and to continue to expand her knowledge of the construction industry and sustainable design. She is motivated to create attractive and functional environments for clients with a wide variety of needs and wants.

Working out of our Cranbrook office, Noémie is an Intern Architect who joined our team in September of 2021. She received her Bachelor of Architecture degree in her native France and her Master’s degree from Laval University in Quebec. As a new graduate, she is learning from the other architects and team members about the steps of a project, the roles of everyone on the team, and what an architect does in the professional world.
Day to day tasks include working drawing production using Revit, schematic design, design development and product research, learning to interpret the building code and land-use bylaws, and participation in all team BIM training and standards development. Noémie works closely with the Cranbrook team, assisting wherever and whenever she is needed.
Noémie enjoys the multi-cultural nature of the team at Berry. Our team members come from many different countries and cultural backgrounds, but we all work together with the common goal to create great architecture. Her personal goals are to become a Registered Architect with the Architectural Institute of British Columbia and also to pursue a LEED Green Associate designation.

Maryam is an Intern Architect who joined our team in September, 2024. She has ten years of experience in the field, including four years in Kelowna, where she is now based in our Kelowna office. With Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Building Technology degrees, as well as an MBA, she is a highly qualified asset to our team.
Daily tasks include creating working drawings in Revit, participating in schematic design and design development, conducting product research, and interpreting building codes and land-use by-laws. She is engaged in all aspects of the architectural process, from schematic design to construction administration, collaborating with Project Architects and Project Managers to oversee projects from their initial stages through to completion.
She is excited to be working for Berry Architecture because of the diversity of our projects and the opportunities we provide to gain a broader perspective on the business and enhance her architectural knowledge and skills. She is registered with the AIBC and is currently working towards becoming a Registered Architect.

Marie is an Intern Architect and Project Manager who is based in the Red Deer office. Marie holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree and is knowledgeable in Building Envelope Performance. She has 19 years of experience working in Canada, in BC and Alberta, fulfilling various roles including designer, project manager, building envelope technologist, interior designer, and BIM specialist.
In her role as a Project Manager, Marie is skilled at liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, and our production team to ensure seamless coordination from design through delivery. Her project management style is focused on delivering client-centered designs that emphasize quality, innovation, and collaboration.
A typical day for Marie may include ensuring all applicable codes are met, completing existing building evaluations and plan reviews, and helping coordinate architectural and engineering drawings with client requirements. Marie’s in-progress goal is to complete the remaining steps to become a Registered Architect in Canada.

Saeed is a Designer who is based in the Red Deer office. He has a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the Islamic Azad University of Najafabad (Iran) and a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Calgary. He has five years of experience working as an Architectural Designer in Iran and Canada.
With a background in both architecture and fine art, he brings a blend of architectural precision and artistic sensibility, allowing him to see projects through a creative, yet pragmatic lens. He is particularly focused on residential, cultural, and community-based design.
Saeed is motivated by the way architecture shapes human emotion and collective experience. His goal with Berry is to grow within its collaborative culture, refine his technical expertise, and contribute to projects that make design both accessible and meaningful for diverse communities.
His daily work includes assisting with design development, preparing drawings and 3D visualizations, researching materials and codes, and supporting communication with consultants. He also contributes to presentation graphics and conceptual studies that communicate project intent clearly and effectively.

Tyleena is an Interior Designer who joined our team in January, 2025. She has an Applied Bachelor of Interior Design Degree from Mount Royal University, which is a Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) accredited program. Tyleena brings 14 years of experience in the architectural field to our team and is based in the Red Deer office.
Tyleena works with the project and client team to design and develop functional and aesthetically pleasing environments. Her role typically includes functional programming, space planning, schematic design development, detailed design development, and construction and tender documents. Her design style focuses on functionality and client-driven design, aiding clients with material choices tailored to their unique needs and personalities.
Like Berry Architecture as a whole, she is committed to inclusivity, accessibility, and barrier-free design in all her projects, including these best practices throughout each building. She is motivated by the diversity that our industry provides on a day-to-day basis and enjoys collaborating with her co-workers in the wide-ranging project typologies that Berry undertakes.

Raymond is a highly skilled Construction Project Manager/Construction Administrator who joined our team in September of 2021. Ray has a diverse set of skills beginning with Art College and a Building Technology Diploma in the UK, then furthering his skills with specializations in Project Management and Construction Administration here in Canada. He has an extensive technical knowledge acquired from his over 50 years in both the architectural and construction industries.
A typical day for Raymond can include anything from conducting site inspections and monitoring construction to answering questions from clients, contractors, and consultants to coordinating QA/QC on the contract documents associated with each project. He is motivated by seeing that projects are completed on time and meet the project goals and, most of all, ensuring that clients are happy in their new spaces.
He enjoys meeting a wide variety of people through his work and providing a positive outlook to all aspects of the job. Goals are to build on the past successes of the company by contributing his expansive knowledge of construction processes, construction documents, tendering procedures, and coordination between owners, contractors, consultants, and sub-trades.

Zac is a highly skilled Construction Project Manager/Construction Administrator who joined our team in 2024. He has 20+ years of experience in the architectural industry as an architectural technologist and project manager, with the past ten years specializing in construction administration. A Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Studies provides Zac with a strong background in conceptual design and gives him a heightened appreciation of craftsmanship and constructability on site.
Zac’s daily tasks range from conducting site inspections and monitoring construction to reviewing submittal packages, assessing change orders, and checking building code compliance to coordinating QA/QC on project contract documents. His most important daily task is problem-solving—if any unforeseen conditions occur during construction, Zac will be there to quickly resolve issues, helping to ensure that construction isn’t inhibited or delayed.
He enjoys working with the Berry team because they are diversely-skilled, motivated, and genuinely love what they do. Goals are to grow in his supporting role with Berry, strengthening the company’s legacy one building at a time!

Gordon is a Construction Administrator and Construction Project Manager based in our Red Deer office. He has an excellent background in all things construction-related, with an in-progress Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, a Civil Engineering Technology Certificate, and a Project Management Certificate, as well as being a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter. He brings 25 years of experience in commercial, industrial, residential, and transportation typologies to our team.
He takes pride in his work and enjoys seeing our clients’ visions and dreams becoming reality when projects are completed. He is a life-long learner who is constantly taking on new challenges to educate himself in the field of construction management.
A typical day for Gord includes managing daily QA and QC documents for the design and construction of projects and their adherence to all project requirements, codes, and standards. He also spends a lot of his time conducting site reviews and coordinating with consultants, contractors, and clients.

Tracey is an Intermediate Technologist who joined our team immediately after graduating from SAIT. She had worked for Berry Architecture the previous summer as an architectural technology student, so she was fully up to speed with Berry Architecture’s methods and culture.
She enjoys the variety of tasks she is able to undertake with the firm which include drafting, Revit and BIM coordination, reviewing drawings, assisting with construction administration paperwork and specifications, conducting facility audits, and helping with administration and proposals. Tracey appreciates having so many opportunities to learn about different aspects of the job.
Tracey has completed two levels of Specifications training through CSC on her journey to becoming a certified Specification Writer. She is motivated by her passion for her job; she loves what she does and wants to build her portfolio by learning and growing every day.

Aidan is an Intermediate Technologist who works in our Kelowna office. He has extensive experience working in the Okanagan region and is a great asset to both our Kelowna team and our team as a whole. In addition to a Diploma in Architectural Technology, he holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree—this background has fostered his interest in building design, particularly building exteriors.
Aidan finds that there is something very satisfying about creating a good-looking building that is functional and meets client goals while also ensuring the safety of all occupants. This satisfaction is what he strives for in his work as a technologist.
Day to day tasks for Aidan include working closely with our architects and technologists to produce construction documents for all phases of project completion. He enjoys working on multiple projects concurrently and being exposed to a wide variety of project types with Berry Architecture.

Alvin joined our team as a full-time summer student in 2021 and then worked part-time with us throughout his final year at SAIT. He graduated in April, 2022 with a Diploma in Architectural Technology. Alvin brings another layer of skills to the team since he also has a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Nano-engineering) from the University of Alberta.
As an important member of our production team, he works primarily in the production of working drawings using Revit. Other duties include assisting with code reviews, reports, site visits, and construction administration. He works closely with our team, helping out wherever and whenever he is needed.
Alvin enjoys his wide range of day to day tasks and the variety of projects that he is able to work on. As part of the Berry team, he is exposed to many different architectural applications—commercial, retail, educational, residential, health care, institutional, industrial—which is great experience for his future in the industry.

Dustin is a Senior Technologist and Project Manager based in our Red Deer office. He is highly experienced, with over 16 years in the field--encompassing a wide variety of project types, sizes, and budgets. He is a great self-motivator and acquired his LEED AP certification and completed the 3-level Revit certification courses on his own initiative prior to joining us at Berry Architecture. Both these programs are a great fit with Berry’s skill sets.
As a Project Manager, Dustin is adept at liaising with clients, consultants, and contractors to keep projects running smoothly. In addition to this role, Dustin provides production coordination, overseeing scheduling and drawing progress throughout the production phases.
Day to day tasks include construction document production, drawing review and coordination, and Building Code reviews, plus working closely with the design and production teams. He excels at technical detailing, coordination of drawings and specifications, and managing multiple projects.

Kurtis is an Architectural Technologist who is based in the Red Deer office. He has a Diploma in Architectural Technology from SAIT and is a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter through Red Deer College. With 20+ years of experience in residential construction and design, he brings a strong blend of technical expertise, real-world construction knowledge, and collaborative problem-solving.
Drawing on his specialization in Revit, Kurtis’ role focuses on technical production, BIM Management and coordination, and supporting the design team through efficient, well-structured Revit workflows. His goal with Berry is to strengthen these workflows in support of clear, buildable projects and consistent, high-quality project delivery.
His day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining Revit models, producing permit and construction drawings, coordinating with project teams, resolving technical and constructability challenges, and supporting consistent BIM standards. He also contributes to quality control and workflow improvements to ensure reliable and efficient project delivery.

Brody is an Architectural Technologist in the Red Deer office. He is a recent graduate with a Diploma in Architectural Technology from SAIT. He is proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam and is primarily responsible for producing construction documents in Revit with our team.
He is enthusiastic about learning new skills and accepting new challenges and strives to constantly improve his skills. Brody excels at the technical areas of drafting, such as wall and roof details and building science elements. With Berry Architecture, he is constantly exposed to new aspects of the profession in terms of range of project typologies, sizes, and complexities, as well as new technologies and products.
A typical day for Brody includes production of working drawings, as well as assisting our architects and senior and intermediate technologists with code reviews, reports, site visits, research, and administration.

Shylia is a Certified Administrative Assistant who joined the Berry Architecture team in 2009. With such extensive experience, Shylia’s role as office manager helps the entire team remain organized and able to consistently meet deadlines.
Her days are full and can vary significantly depending on if new staff have been recently hired or a large proposal needs to be submitted. Shylia’s tasks include providing new employee orientations, IT support, social media updates for the office, shipping, answering phones, upkeep of the plants on the green roof, accounting support, data entry, research, and ordering office supplies.
Her secondary role is as the firm’s Health and Safety Officer, with the responsibility of ensuring team members receive the safety training they need to do their jobs.
Shylia has strong communication skills and a self-starter attitude, keeping Berry's clients and co-workers content. Her attention to detail, punctuality, and reliability are all crucial to maintaining the great team atmosphere at Berry.

Laura has a long history with Berry Architecture + Associates, first as a consultant, and then for the past several years as the on-staff writer and editor.
With Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English Literature, Laura is well-equipped to write and edit the Berry team’s proposals, reports, and marketing materials. Laura’s attention to detail enhances the accomplishments she has in her role as well as the team’s success in creating winning project proposals.
Energized by the fact that each day looks a little different for her, Laura is motivated to increase the reach of Berry’s newsletter, social media, and website as vehicles for staying in touch with clients.
She is probably most proud of Berry's role in sustainable architecture and her part in helping to prepare the written documents for the firm's LEED Gold accreditation process and for our Green Roof Award of Excellence.

Sarah is a staff support person and facility evaluator who joined our team in December of 2023. She had previously worked with Berry Architecture as a summer student for three consecutive summers. She works with our project managers and technologists to support project needs wherever possible, especially with facility evaluations, research assistance, and specifications support.
As an important member of our facility evaluation team, Sarah recently completed the Alberta Infrastructure VFA training. Her ultimate goal is to become an Interior Designer; and in pursuit of this goal, she is currently completing a Diploma in Interior Design through VCAD, while working part-time with the firm. With this in view, she enjoys assisting our in-house interior designer when needed.
Motivated to learn and absorb as much information and knowledge in the architectural and interior design fields as she can, she is currently learning basic Revit.

Bachelor of Arts Degree (Sociology); Media Studies Certificate
Avery is Berry’s Marketing Coordinator, based in the Red Deer office. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree (Sociology) and a Media Studies Certificate from the University of British Columbia. Her media studies background includes marketing techniques, digital media, visual arts, and computer science.
She has experience as an External Media Coordinator, giving her a solid grasp of how to plan and execute internal and external media events, build community relationships, and portray our firm values both on- and off-line. She is also thoroughly versed in social media communications and keeps our profile relevant and dynamic.
Every day is different for Avery, with tasks including managing events, sponsorships, and social media, as well as preparing marketing materials and campaigns to advance the Berry Architecture brand. Avery is motivated to explore how we can showcase our team’s incredible abilities through newsletters, social media, and our website—highlighting our impressive portfolio of current and completed projects.

Advanced Business Management and E-Commerce Diploma
Erica is a Financial Accountant here at Berry Architecture. She works in the Red Deer office, assisting our CFO with all things financial. She has a Diploma in Advanced Business Management and E-Commerce, as well as a variety of accounting, organizational behaviour, and communications training. She brings over 20 years of experience to the firm.
Energized by the opportunities to learn and grow in the creative architectural industry, Erica excels at learning new programs, processes, and tasks quickly. She enjoys helping others and is excited to be a part of Berry’s expanding practice.
Daily responsibilities are varied and make each day different—from maintaining financial records to managing accounts payable/receivable to processing payroll and calculating and filing GST returns, Erica takes on multiple tasks throughout her day. Her favourite aspect of working at Berry is the collaborative and supportive team environment.
