Project Start-up: Penticton Childcare Centre
An exciting project that we are undertaking for the City of Penticton will be a renovation and extension to their childcare facility. This new project is just starting up and will provide four new childcare rooms, washrooms, storage spaces, and an outdoor playground and will accommodate approximately 60 children from infants to five years old. Project will include a renovation to the existing daycare facilities in the Community Centre, as well as a small two-storey building extension to the Community Centre.
Project Updates: Spirit River Lodge
The new Spirit River Seniors’ Lodge is nearing completion! On January 16-17th, Ray and Alvin went to the site for substantial completion reviews of the second and third floors and a progress review of the main floor. The main floor houses the commercial kitchen, dining room, amenity spaces, and back of house facilities, plus a wing of lodge suites and the dementia care wing. The second and third floors house lodge suites, with gathering areas and multi-purpose spaces. Exterior work on the building is completed, including landscaping, hardscaping, and parking. We added a gazebo that wasn’t in the original drawings to provide additional outside recreational space. The whole team is eagerly looking forward to project completion and move-in for the residents!
Project Completion: P.Volve Fitness
This project was a renovation to an existing fitness studio located in the popular Kensington neighbourhood in Calgary. The client is introducing Calgary to a new fitness chain called P.Volve. As a hybrid fitness model, P.Volve can be experienced in-studio or through live and on-demand virtual classes. The renovation to the space has been completed to meet the franchises’ design guidelines. The space consists of a reception and merchandising area, the large fitness studio, a personal training room, beauty bar/locker room, and back of house services. This unique studio is now open and ready for participants!
Here are some things we've been up to:
With the increase in cyber-thefts, we have done a complete system upgrade and training to help protect our and our clients’ electronic information. All Berry Architecture staff will be going through regular cyber-security training on how to detect and report potential issues. We started completing this training in December and January. This is another example of additional services that Berry Architecture brings to all our clients.
