Berry Architecture Christmas Party
On November 24th, the Berry Architecture team gathered for our annual Christmas party. We had a great venue at the Gasoline Alley Farmer’s Market, with a delicious turkey dinner catered by Remi’s Catering. This was followed by some fun games. We were pleased to have team members from Calgary, Cranbrook, and Kelowna make it to the party, as well as Caitlin who is on maternity leave!

Project Update: KCA School
Berry Architecture has been working with the Kootenay Christian Academy on an ongoing basis over the past few years to provide schematic design services for their new school project in Cranbrook, BC. As their focus has changed, we recently completed new schematic designs and a video fly-through for them to present at their AGM. The video presentation really helps everyone to visualize what the space will look like and how it will feel to actually progress through the building. Check out the new renderings and fly-through!

New Project: Lamb Ford Dealership
This new project is an expansion, renovation, and modernization of the existing Lamb Ford Dealership in Camrose, Alberta. The new building addition includes a two-storey 9,075 sq.ft. parts and accessories showroom on the main floor with an administration level on the second floor, as well as a 2,520 sq.ft. single-storey drive-through service bay. Two lifts will provide access to the upper floor. The renovation areas include the sales and showroom area, customer service, staff lounge, washrooms, and main floor offices. The exterior of the building will be modernized to align with Ford Canada’s new “signature plans” design guidelines.
The original drawing concept was prepared by others, and Berry Architecture’s scope includes reviewing the concept for additional deficiencies, improvements, and code compliance, as well as preparing the construction documents and providing Project Management and Construction Administration services. This will be the third Ford Dealership that we have completed, and we recently worked with the new Ford design guidelines on a dealership in Pincher Creek.

New Project: Cleanline Automotive
This new construction project for Cleanline Automotive in Invermere, BC will be a 588 sq.m. building, housing an automotive shop and two smaller bays consisting of a warehouse bay and a commercial retail unit. The exterior will be metal cladding, with faux-wood metal cladding at the entrances. The south overhead doors will feature plenty of clear glazing to bring in abundant natural light to the work spaces and bays. Berry Architecture has completed many commercial / industrial projects of this type, with a wide variety of automotive shops, shop and office combinations, and manufacturing plants.

Here are some things we've been up to:
On November 18th, Carlos and Ileana represented Berry Architecture at the 32nd Annual Innkeeper’s Gala, benefitting the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation with proceeds supporting cancer care. The event has raised over 1.2 million dollars in its history. The evening featured live music, a live auction, a silent auction, food stations, and a selection of local wine, beer, and other beverages.
The Wheatland Housing Foundation held their annual Christmas Extravaganza Bake Sale/Craft Sale on November 25th. Berry Architecture contributed a gift basket valued at $200, plus a blanket and tote to this fundraiser in aid of the Lodge’s Goodwill Club. This fundraiser supports musical entertainment, the handi-bus for medical appointments, and social activities at the Lodge. The event had a sell-out crowd of 169 attendees and raised over $5,000!
Carlos and Ileana attended the Urban Development Institute, Okanagan Region’s Annual Holiday Reception on December 14th in Kelowna. Berry Architecture sponsored a Christmas tree for the event, valued at $1,500. It was a great opportunity for networking with industry peers in a festive atmosphere.
Our Christmas Donation project: We are taking part in the Salvation Army’s Adopt-a-Family program once again this year. We adopted a senior and a family with a six-year-old child, providing gifts and food vouchers. Thank you to Ray and Adeline for organizing this and buying presents!
