Lacalta Lodge
Lac La Biche, Alberta
A Needs Assessment study completed by Berry Architecture determined that the Lacalta Lodge in Lac La Biche was landlocked and in need of an expansion. A new site was selected and designed to meet the current requirements and consider future needs of the community. This project included the design of the 60-unit lodge and a life-lease building that is yet to be built. The new lodge was significantly increased in units, and the site has an area designated for the future life-lease development, making this an ideal “aging in place” facility. Lacalta Lodge was completed in 2010.
