KSS Automotive is a Calgary-based company that specializes in recycling vehicles. They required an industrial building for removing parts and engines from the vehicles prior to crushing and shipping. The main building contains an office and waiting room, staff mezzanine area, and four bays of shop space. An additional small building was required for storage of automotive parts.

This project is the first that we have completed using Premium Built Structure’s post-frame system. The post-frame method involves burying posts into the ground and framing above grade on the inside and outside of the posts, similar to an agricultural building style. We were able to work with their team to improve the foundation details, utilizing a proper concrete foundation wall on a strip footing and a fastener embedded in concrete to hold the wood frames.
