Berry Architecture worked with the Ellis Bird Farm to complete the schematic design of their new multi-purpose Visitor Centre. The centre has a large covered outdoor patio with oversize doors which open to a spacious, multi-functional hall, thereby creating a sense of “bringing the outdoors in.” The large hall houses the centre’s interpretive display area, retail shop area, reception/guest services, staff room, office, mechanical room, and washrooms. The new space allows the Bird Farm to cater events and offer a variety of indoor/outdoor activities and programming. We provided the design on a pro bono basis, and the project also received generous funding from a private donor.
