Berry Architecture is currently working on a new lodge project in Spirit River, Alberta. The new lodge will replace the existing lodge on a nearby site. It will be a three-storey facility with a mix of 40 Seniors’ Lodge suites (including four couple suites); 26 Designated Supportive Living, Level 4 suites; and 26 Designated Supportive Living, Level 4 for Dementia suites. The new lodge will incorporate all the required amenities in a homey, comfortable, and pleasant atmosphere designed to be in keeping with the cultural context of the Spirit River area.

The residents will have access to green spaces on the north and southeast sides of the building, featuring gazebos, benches, and raised planting beds along several walking paths. The Level 4D residents will have their own fenced-in courtyard with similar site features. The new lodge is a Construction Management project with Krawford Construction and is currently under construction. In addition to the lodge, a self-contained seniors’ apartment has been planned for the southeast portion of the site.
