This project in rural New Brunswick was of particular interest to our design team as an off-grid home. The predominantly south-facing exposure takes advantage of passive solar gains to help with the heating and cooling of the 1,000 sq.ft. interior. The angled roof-line is sized to hold a minimum of 10 KW solar photo-voltaic array, and the advanced building envelope system was designed to exceed the thermal requirements of the National Energy Code. The outdoor living spaces also help to bridge a connection with the beautiful surrounding landscape.
