The Design Architect will provide conceptual and schematic design services needed to serve our clients. This position requires a degreed and licensed individual with 5 to 8 years of professional North American experience. Experience with housing, education and/or commercial design projects is necessary, as well as both proficiency with manual sketching, and other presentation software. Experience with all Basic Architectural Services including Project Management is an advantage. Successful candidate must possess strong problem solving and aesthetic design skills, as well as, experience and a commitment to sustainability. Proven team work and leadership skills are required.
The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to Red Deer, Alberta and will exhibit extensive experience designing projects with little or no supervision. This is a long term employment opportunity with potential partnership. A relocation allowance can be negotiated.

Primary Responsibilities and Goals
Develop working drawings and assist with coordination of all disciplines
Review drawings for errors and omissions, creating mark up documents
Create and translate various details and construction procedures
Research, comprehend, and implement various construction practices
Perform site inspections and construction inspection reports
Work within allowable timeframes
Keep open lines of communication with supervisor and with project team
Maintain up-to-date cartoon sets
Be proud of the quality work you produce
Extensive knowledge and understanding of building code, municipal regulation of project location, and building envelope.
Education and Experience Required
2 year diploma from Accredited Technical Institution
Experience with Revit & Word required.
Must demonstrate capability of handling tasks as per authority to act chart.
Capability to assemble various drawing packages
Project coordination

Duties:
Supervising the construction meetings, answers questions from the contractor, issues change orders, processes monthly payment claims.
Works directly with the client to ensure the project is completed correctly.
administering the design and construction contracts
responsible for managing or coordinating the construction phases of the project
